Happy August everyone!  We hope you enjoyed the Town's summer activities.  From day camps for children, to Senior Center events, to outdoor concerts for all, the Town had something for everyone.  Now, the 2018 Town budget process has begun. The Town Board will receive the Preliminary Budget in October for review.

Road Paving Program

We completed the 2017 paving projects this summer resurfacing over 3.5 miles of roads. Town roads are deteriorating faster due to inconsistent winter weather of more frequent warm and cold spells.  As a result, the Town spent $1million in 2017, the largest amount ever to repave roads.  The Town manages a five year paving plan based on road conditions and usage that is updated every year.

Voluntary Watering Reduction Program

Westchester Joint Water Works is asking customers to comply with a voluntary watering reduction program as described below.

Lawn Irrigation System

In an effort to manage daily water demands that have approached maximum pumping capacity and to avoid service interruptions, customers are asked to voluntarily adopt a three-day per week lawn watering schedule. Odd numbered street addresses water on a Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday schedule and even numbered addresses water on a Saturday- Monday-Wednesday schedule. Customers can further assist in managing peak water consumption by using their lawn irrigation systems in the evenings on those days. It is anticipated the program will ease the strain on the water system and reduce infrastructure failures.

In regards to water rates;
 the Town is considering adopting a 3% increase to fund capital improvement projects to repair and enhance the water transport and storage system.

Please follow the rules when walking, hiking and running along our beautiful trails.  Dogs MUST be leashed at all times for the safety of residents and animals alike and there is no bike riding on any of the trails.  Your cooperation would be appreciated.

Are those Swans Real?

Have you seen the "swans" at the Gardens Lake Duck Pond?  They are decoys intended to discourage Canada geese from fouling the area.
