Senior Center

The Senior Center operates under the auspices of the Town of Mamaroneck Community Services Office. It is located at 1288 Boston Post Road Larchmont, NY 10538 (VFW David Potts Jr. Post #1156). Our senior center is dedicated to providing a wide variety of social, educational and recreational programs to meet the needs of aging adults in our community. The center is open year-round, Monday- Friday and is available to adults 55 years and older. Please call the Senior Center (914)834-8840 for any inquires.

Membership


The Town of Mamaroneck Senior Center allows residents as well as non-residents to become members of our center. Those residing in the Town of Mamaroneck, Village of Larchmont & Village of Mamaroneck are considered residents. There is a required annual membership fee of $35 per person for residents and $50 for non-residents. Annual membership at the senior center runs from January 1st- December 31st. Most activities are free with membership or have a nominal charge. Some programs and special events have a fee for participants.  If you are interested in joining, please complete the Senior Center Registration Form (PDF) and return it to the Senior Center with your payment.

Programs & Events


The Town of Mamaroneck Senior Center offers an engaging selection of social, educational and recreational programs for our members to choose from. We offer a wide array of exercise programs that aim to improve balance, strength and overall physical fitness for our seniors. Our members can also choose to partake in group games such as, Mahjongg, Bridge, Poker, Chess, Scrabble, Pokeno and Bingo. Educational programs that are offered include: Advanced Art Classes, Historical Lectures, Health & Wellness Presentations, Baking Classes, Knitting Club and additional educational programming based on topics of interest to our senior community.  Our center hosts monthly special or themed events with musical entertainment such as, St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, Annual Senior Barbeque, Oktoberfest and much more! Some of our scheduled trips include casinos, theatre, museums, restaurants, and shopping. Our members also engage in intergenerational programming with many of the local students in our area through our Senior Prom and themed bingo.   You can view the Senior Center’s monthly calendar of events (PDF) or pick one up at the Senior Center. Nutrition Program


The Senior Center is also home to the Senior Nutrition Program which provides a hot lunch weekdays at noon. Reservations are required and must be made at least one day in advance by calling the Senior Center at (914) 834-8840 between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.  The cost of the meal is $7.95 per and the minimum suggested contribution is $4 per meal.  Participants under the age of 60 must pay the full cost of the meal.
