Gasoline-Powered

Unlawful Use

The use of gasoline-powered leaf blowers is banned from June 1 through September 30. This is an effort to reduce noise that is disruptive to our community and carries an increased risk of hearing damage. In addition, the particulate matter that is propelled into the air from the blowers has shown to increase health risks. At present in the unincorporated Town of Mamaroneck, use is banned during the aforementioned timeframe.

Lawful Use

The use of gasoline-powered leaf blowers is permitted from October 1 to May 31. However, the equipment shall only be used within the permitted hours of operation.

Electric-Powered 

The use of electric-powered leaf blowers is preferred as they have shown to be less harmful when compared to a gasoline-powered leaf blowers. This equipment may be used year-round during the permitted hours of operation.

Permitted Hours of Operation

Monday-Friday: 8:00 am - 9:00 pm

Saturday, Sunday, & legal holidays: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
