This storm caused extensive damage throughout the entire County. The Town has worked with Con Ed cut and clear crews to open streets for the past two days. There are still several Town streets that due to extensive damage from downed trees and poles are not accessible and that require Con Ed restoration crews. Con Ed reported to me this morning that they have restoration crews coming from Texas, Mississippi and Canada tomorrow to help Con Ed crews in Westchester County. They predict 90% of the power in the County will be restored by late Tuesday night. However, they said there will be area pockets that might not be restored until Wednesday or Thursday.
The Town Highway crews are picking up storm debris and will continue to do so. The Larchmont and Mamaroneck libraries are open during the day for places to charge equipment and get warm. The Town will open a warming shelter at the Senior Center/VFW at 1288 Boston Post Road this evening from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. There will be normal sanitation pickup Monday March 5th, but streets that are not accessible will be skipped. During the coming week the Town Highway Department will be collecting storm debris at the curb. Please refer to the Town of Mamaroneck website for further details.
