This is Town Supervisor Nancy Seligson with an information update about the Coronoavirus. Town Administrator Steve Altieri and I participated in a call with the County Executive and the Commissioner of the County Health Department today regarding the virus. I know everyone is worried about the spread of the virus, but most people are not and will not be affected by the virus. It is important to remain cautious and prepared, as fear and panic will not help us and are not needed. There is one Westchester resident who has tested positive for the Coronoavirus and is being treated at a hospital in NYC. The County Health Department is reaching out to everyone who might have been in contact with this individual.
Advice from the State and County says to continue your regular schedule, but wash your hands often with soap and water, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands, cover your cough and sneeze with a tissue and then throw the tissue in the trash, stay home if you are not feeling well or are sick, and call your primary physician if you have any symptoms.
