The following is another update on the Town’s response to the Coronavirus situation. As of today, there are 98 confirmed cases of the Corona virus in Westchester County but the good news is that only one person has required hospitalization. There has been one confirmed case of an adult in the Village of Larchmont testing positive for the virus. I continue to suggest you go about your daily routines but exercise those precautionary measures to minimize your chances of contracting the virus including: washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, coughing and sneezing into your sleeve, and avoiding close contact with those who appear sick. Also, if you feel sick, stay at home.
The Town is working with both the Villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck as well as the School District on a daily basis to stay on top of the situation. Today, we all participated in a conference call with the County of Westchester. At this point there is no new information relating to municipal government operations from either the State or County Health Departments. We are continuing our stepped up cleaning of public facilities including the Mamaroneck Town Center, Senior Center and Hommocks Ice Rink. I want to remind residents of our online services available through the Town website from which you can pay property taxes, see assessment data and register for Recreation Department Programs. At this time we have made a decision to postpone events where we anticipate a large concentration of senior citizens in a single facility. As an example the St. Patrick’s luncheon planned for Thursday March 12 has been postponed. However, except for Thursday March 12, the Senior Center will be open daily for the daily nutrition program and small group activities.
We will update our website with the most current information on the Corona virus situation in the Town.
Sincerely,
Nancy Seligson
Town Supervisor
