Town of Mamaroneck Coronavirus Update March 23, 2020
Good evening fellow residents this is Nancy Seligson, Town Supervisor with a Coronavirus update for Monday March 23rd.
Here is what is new: The Town Center Offices will operate under a new schedule in an effort to insure the continued operation of the Town government and to meet the Governor’s workforce reduction guidelines. Effective Tuesday March 24th and until further notice, the Town Center will only be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and by appointment only. The Town Center will be closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I again urge you to conduct your business with the Town either by phone or use our online services.
The next topic is the disposal of cleaning and bathroom wipes. We are all using more of these wipes in our lives and homes now to keep surfaces sanitized. Please do not flush these wipes in the toilet even if they claim to be flushable and biodegradable. All wipes clog the sewers and can disrupt the sewage treatment process.
Based upon information from the New York State Health Department, there are 13 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the unincorporated Town of Mamaroneck. Please remember the Governor’s guidance by staying at home whenever possible and avoiding large groups. While our playgrounds are closed, the parks and hiking trails are open for more solitary recreation. I know this is a difficult and frustrating time, but we can get through the Coronavirus situation by working together and staying 6 feet apart.
