[ARCHIVED] UPDATED - Waste Collection Schedule - Week of Sept. 13

Reminder of  Waste Collection Schedule for Week of September 13, 2021

In response to the continued demand for storm-related debris collection and limited capacity for disposal, please read carefully the schedule of waste collection and guidelines that will be followed for the remainder of this week.

The Maxwell Avenue Recycling Facility will be open Friday, September 17 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and on Saturday, September 18 from 8:00 am to 11:45 am.

On Friday, September 17, the commission will collect both garbage and commingled containers (bottles and cans) if it is your regularly scheduled second collection day.  Commingled containers will also be accepted at the Maxwell Avenue Recycling Center on Friday.  Until further notice, cardboard and paper will not be accepted at the Maxwell Avenue facility.

Friday, September 17, is the last day that the Sanitation Commission (the Town of Mamaroneck and the Village of Larchmont) will collect storm-related debris at the curb.  After this date, residents and commercial customers must follow the standard rules for rubbish collection or arrange for collection from a private waste hauler for larger quantities of material. Please visit the Sanitation Commission website ( for the rules on rubbish collection.  Violations will be issued to properties that do not comply with this directive.

Curbside yard waste collection is cancelled for this week.  Yard waste will however be accepted at the Maxwell Avenue facility. Yard waste bags that are set out this week at the curb that become wet and deteriorate will not be collected.  Property owners will have to make their own arrangements to transport the material to the Maxwell Avenue facility.
