TRAVEL ADVISORY
One Lane Expected to Close Along US Route 1 in Village of Mamaroneck, Westchester County
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising Westchester County motorists that one lane of US Route 1 (Boston Post Road) northbound and southbound will be closed with flaggers on scene for traffic control, between Library Lane and Spruce Street in the Village of Mamaroneck, daily and nightly beginning Monday, December 6 through Friday, December 10, between 9 a.m. and 12 a.m., to facilitate utility work, weather permitting.
The lane closure is necessary to reinforce and strengthen the stone arch bridge over the Mamaroneck River as part of an ongoing bridge replacement and rehabilitation project in Lower Westchester.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
