Victory Farms Going Strong in Year Three
The Victory Farms at the Grange is celebrating its third year organizing the Larchmont/Mamaroneck community, including schools, around growing vegetables and sharing the harvest with neighbors in need. Lisa Chase, Larchmont community member and project founder, supports and coaches her growing network of growers every step of the way. This includes providing a variety of seedlings to growers, sending tips like a tutorial on "How to Prune Your Tomato Plants,” installing a large cooler outside Lisa’s restaurant, The Grange, for easy drop-off of harvested vegetables, and finally, arranging the delivery of the produce to the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force’s weekly food distribution to those in need.
