Roads Complete
Lafayette Road, N. Chatsworth Avenue, New Jefferson Street, Washington Square, Huguenot Drive, Fifth Avenue
Outstanding Schedule
Please know paving schedules are weather dependent. Notice of changes will be updated below and noticed as necessary.
Milling:
9/30 New Harmon Drive
Paving:
10/3 New Harmon Drive & Revere Road
New asphalt will be placed one travel lane at a time, allowing vehicles to pass through the work zone while the ‘hot side’ is cooling. Within the limitations of paving, necessary residential vehicle access will be accommodated during the closure; delays should be expected. The Town discourages all non-essential vehicle trips during hours of work to avoid congestion which may delay the completion of work. We expect the roadways will be reopened to regular traffic by 5pm each day.
If you cannot park where you normally park, you have several options. Please see Frequently Asked Questions.
We appreciate your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause. Please feel free to directly contact the Engineering Department with questions by phone at (914) 381-7835 from 8:30am-4:00pm; or by email at: highway@townofmamaroneckny.org.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I park? If you are on Lafayette or Huguenot, it is suggested you park on Edgewood, Normandy, France, Rochelle, Barnard or the gravel lot on the corner of Fifth and Madison. If you are on New Harmon Drive or Revere Road, it is suggested you park on Old Harmon, Windsor, or Myrtle Boulevard (from Lakeside to Weaver). Temporary Parking Permits – If you will need to park on a local street nearby or Lot A (and you do not have any Town permit), please stop by the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department at 740 W. Boston Post Road to pick up a temporary parking permit. This will allow you to leave your vehicles, even overnight, on nearby streets, as long as you have a temporary parking permit.
If you are live in the Washington Square Residential Area, you may park in Lot A, the gravel lot on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue, or in the metered spots on Madison Avenue – once the milling is done and prior to/or after paving. If you have a WSA, Lester Place or Lot B, D or E permit, please continue to hang that permit and you will have access to all available temporary parking. If your vehicle does not currently have a WSA or other Town permit, please visit the Police Department at 740 W. Boston Post Road to pick up a temporary parking permit.
When will work be done? All work will occur during normal daytime hours. Most work will be completed daily, generally between 7am and 3pm. Note, this schedule may change due to unexpected field conditions, availability of construction materials, and weather conditions. The Town will monitor weather forecasts to confirm conditions are acceptable for asphalt paving to be undertaken.
Can I park on-street overnight? As long as you have a temporary permit from the Police Department, the Town will allow you to park on nearby roads overnight. No parking signage will be posted at least 48 hours prior to the start of work on the respective roads. Maintenance of clear access to the roadway will help ensure successful completion of work in a safe and efficient manner. On-street parking is prohibited on the noticed roads during construction.
