A Challenging Time Continues
The Coronavirus pandemic has been a challenging time, during these past two months, in our community and the world. We can take pride in knowing that through our efforts and those medical professionals fighting the pandemic, the Coronavirus curve in Westchester County is beginning to flatten. We are experiencing fewer new cases and hospitalizations. All of the efforts we’ve made - and must continue to make - including social distancing, wearing masks, working remotely, schooling from home and eliminating gatherings has had a positive impact on combatting the spread of the Coronavirus. Although it is frustrating to stay home and avoid social gatherings, there have been many individual actions and collective events from which we can take comfort and share a smile.
Food Pantry Distribution
The Larchmont - Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force ("The Food Pantry") held a large food distribution event at the Mamaroneck Avenue School on April 21st. The coordination amongst the school, Town and Villages and the many volunteers – all in very inclement weather- was extremely successful. More than 600 bags of food were distributed to people in need.
