A Different Kind of Summer
As we look forward to warmer weather, the Town, which lies within the Mid-Hudson region, has been given the go ahead to implement Phase 1 of New York State’s reopening plan. This was the result of the region having met specific Coronavirus related benchmarks. The four phases for reopening businesses are outlined below. It has been, and looks like it will continue to be, a very different kind of summer this year.
Essential businesses and business activities will remain open, such as Town government. Eligibility to advance phases is expected to take place every two weeks based on the health metrics established for the region. If all goes well, after two weeks in Phase 1 and then two weeks in Phase 2, restaurants could open in our region as early as June 23rd.
New York State (NYS) is implementing a contact tracing plan in an effort to identify those individuals who might have been exposed to the Coronavirus and to limit its spread. The NYS Department of Health, as part of the contact tracing procedures, will be reaching out to people by phone. Therefore, it is very important to respond to their calls.
