Greetings Residents!I am Jaine Elkind Eney, the new Supervisor of the Town. After serving on the Town Board for ten years, five of them as Deputy Supervisor, I am delighted and excited to be serving you as Town Supervisor. As a Councilwoman, I served as Town Board Liaison to all four land use boards (Planning, Zoning, Coastal Zone Management, and Architectural Review), as well as the Housing Authority, Board of Assessment Review, the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Library Board and the Human Rights Committee. As liaison to the Recreation Commission, I spearheaded the project to renovate the Hommocks Park Ice Rink and the project to renovate the Ice Rink locker rooms, including the much-needed changing rooms for female players and indoor space for summer camp activities. Currently, I remain the liaison to the Fire Department and liaison from the Town to the Chamber of Commerce. I have also worked on many special projects for the Town, among them, the search committee to replace the Town’s retiringTown Administrator, the Steering Committee for our Comprehensive Plan, which will provide a blueprint of the community’s vision for the future of the Town of Mamaroneck, and a Town communications committee which resulted in Supervisor’s newsletters so that the Town could better communicate with residents.
As Supervisor, I serve as a Trustee on the Board of Westchester Joint Waterworks and as a Commissioner of the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Joint Garbage Disposal Commission. I also serve on the Executive Committee of United Westchester, a committee of municipal, county and state elected officials formed to examine and report on the failures of the County's electric utilities and telecommunications companies in response to storms, and to provide recommendations to prevent these failures in the future. I am co-chair of the Con Ed sub-committee of United Westchester. In this role I recently testified on behalf of the Town before the State's Public Service Commission.
One of the things that makes the Town of Mamaroneck so special is its longstanding tradition of good government. We run a transparent, responsive, progressive, inclusive, and civil government. I plan to continue that tradition, working with our dedicated, professional, and caring staff under the leadership of our new Town Administrator, Meredith Robson. I am proud to be working with my colleagues on the Town Board — Abby Katz, Sabrina Fiddelman, Jeff King and the newest member of the team, Robin Nichinsky. We are all committed to the Town and our residents and to working together with the entire community to continue to move the Town of Mamaroneck forward. I look forward to meeting you in person during Town Board Meetings, community events or while out and about in the Town.
The Swearing-In ceremony was held on January 12, 2022 and carried live by LMC Media. If you would like to view the ceremony, please click here here

Redistricting -- Make your voices heard!
After every US census occurs, the Congressional (and state representative) maps are redrawn. The goal of this redistricting is to create congressional districts that are relatively equal in population so that representative democracy can continue. The problem with the proposed congressional maps is that they split both the Town of Mamaroneck and the Village of Mamaroneck into two separate congressional districts. This will dilute our voices and make it harder to get attention for the issues that matter specifically to our community, like flooding, and make it more difficult for local officials to interface with the federal government to meet the needs of our residents. It will also create confusion among the residents of our community when seeking services.
To view the proposed maps, please see https://www.nyirc.gov/plans. If you agree that splitting our community is not in our best interest, I urge you to email the Legislative Task Force at info@latfor.state.ny.us . I know our New York State representatives, Senator Shelley Mayer and Assemblyman Steve Otis have been strenuously advocating for us. Please email them to let them know your concerns. The more they hear from us, the more leverage they will have. Please contact them at smayer@nysenate.gov and otiss@nyassembly.gov.

Snow Reminders
Please remember that residents are required to clear their sidewalks of ice and snow within 24 hours after the snow has stopped falling. Additionally, if there is a fire hydrant in front of your property, the TMFD requests that you clear the snow around the hydrant so that they can easily connect to it in case of an emergency.

Our Town Needs You!Please consider volunteering for the Town. The Town is looking for qualified residents to sit on the following committees:
1) Coastal Zone Management Commission (CZMC)The Coastal Zone Management Commission is comprised of eleven members, each serving a term of three years, with the chair serving a term of one year. It was established in 1986 to monitor and coordinate the implementation of the New York State approved Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan. The commission weighs in on proposed development in the watershed area. Residents of the Unincorporated area of the Town and the Village of Larchmont who have a demonstrated knowledge in the areas of conservation, drainage and groundwater issues, or the effects of development on the environment are encouraged to apply.
2) Housing AuthorityThe Housing Authority is comprised of five members, each serving a term of five years. It was established in 1992 under the Public Housing Law of New York State to provide affordable housing within the Town, including the Hommocks Park Apartments. Adult residents who live in the Town (including both villages) may apply. At this time, we are seeking someone with a financial background. Real estate property management would also be a plus.
3) Zoning BoardThe Zoning Board of Appeals is comprised of five members, each serving a term of five years. Established in 1920, the Zoning Board has jurisdiction over residential special use permits and variances, and interprets the zoning code. The Zoning Board currently has an opening for an alternate position. A resident with construction, architecture, or legal experience would be preferred. If you are interested in being considered, please contact Supervisor Jaine Elkind Eney by email at supervisor@townofmamaroneckny.org with a letter of interest and a resume.
