PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE LEGAL NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 130 of the Town Law of the State of New York, a Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 8:00 PM or as soon thereafter as is possible, to consider the “Exemption for Individuals Filming within Their Homes or Places of Business” Law, at the Town Center, 740 W. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, New York. Purpose: Modern technology has advanced to the point where individuals, acting alone or with other members of their household or their business only, can make recordings for commercial purposes while within their homes or places of business. The Town Board finds that such activity is not disruptive for it does not interfere with the day-to-day activities of the Town's residents or merchants. For that reason, licensing such activity serves no purpose. This local law exempts such activities from the scope of Chapter 99 of the Code.
